    • @headwall-photonics
      @headwall-photonics 2 місяці тому

      Dear Tejeshw, for most hyperspectral imaging applications we recommend using a broadband light source, ideally with wide wavelength coverage and even spectral response across the spectrum. Typically that would be a quartz tungsten halogen source which is built into our illumination systems. The light often is directed into an intense but small area where the sensor is directed in order to be as efficient as possible. If you'd like to discuss your particular needs, please send us your email address to marketing@headwallphotonics.com and we can correspond directly.

    Excellent and to the point presentation. Thank you! I just have one question: How do you choose your polling frequency of the sensor (or other method) to create the pixels in the movement direction? Because these "temporal" pixels have to match the dimensions of the spacial pixels (the line) right? And this will be different depending on movement speed, fov and distance to the object.

      Hi Thorwald, I apologize for the later response. You can choose the frame-rate and the exposure time of the sensor. In the case of a scanning kit or a compatible drone, you can set the speed. We do have a handy online FOV Calculator on our website that is also incorporated into our software: www.headwallphotonics.com/fov-calculator. Does this help? Sincerely, Headwall Marketing.

    which camera do you recommend for mine exploration ?

    • @headwall-photonics
      @headwall-photonics 4 роки тому

      Hi, mineral detection is most often done with a NIR or SWIR sensor. However, sometimes there is a desire for detecting and imaging vegetation-encroachment which is most often done in the VIS or VNIR. Headwall makes a very popular VNIR-SWIR sensor that covers the 400-2,500nm region. It can also be equipped with LiDAR. The LiDAR point cloud can be used to create a very accurate high-resolution DEM to aid in orthorectification of the Hyperspectral image and/or creating 3D imagery using the 3D nature of the point cloud and the hyperspectral data captured at the same time. There is a lot of capability in this airborne package. When you say mine exploration, do you mean prospecting or exploring existing open-pit mines? If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at sales@headwallphotonics.com. Depending on your location, we can respond directly or put you in contact with one of our partner resellers worldwide. Thank you for your interest!

    what does it means spatial bands??

    • @headwall-photonics
      @headwall-photonics 4 роки тому

      Hi Hassan, Our sensors create the hyperspectral image by taking advantage of motion. Unlike a conventional sensor, like the one in a smartphone that takes pictures a snapshot at a time, our sensors gather the spectral data of each pixel in a 'line'. That's why you sometimes hear the term for these sensors "linescan" or "pushbroom". As the drone or subject on a conveyor belt moves, an image is formed. And inside our sensors is a Headwall-made holographic grating that splits the light up into a rainbow of colors. Thus, at each (spatial) pixel you get the spectral information. The number of pixels across the sensor dictates the number of 'spatial bands' in one dimension of the image. The design of the grating and imaging array at the focal plane dictates the number of 'spectral bands' you will get. For more information, we have an explanatory document that you can download from here with a nice diagram: headwallphotonics.sharefile.com/d-s3f8501d470a4e89a You can also find information on Wikipedia, here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperspectral_imaging.
